It literally becomes a mess I’m ngl well for one, he is so mean to her especially now that she’s in his camp. Eventually, maxi falls pregnant and gets stuck in the battlefield so she has a miscarriage and almost dies, riftan blames himself, maxi doesn’t find out until later then blames herself then she’s forced to go home to her parents home bc her dad thinks riftan won’t want anything to do with her now that she’s miscarriaged and so he abuses her the whole time and riftan doesn’t go check on her at all then when he finally does he finds the dad in the middle of the a thousandth time he abuses maxi. Riftan ends up beating her dad up so bad that the dad tells the king and long story short, they have to choose between maxi going to the magic tower to study to become a real mage for 4 years or her not doing that and Riftan losing all his lands, titles, authority and power. Obviously, to protect riftan, maxi ends up going to study at the magic tower for 4 years with very little contact outside the tower. Obviously riftan doesn’t take this well at all, especially before she leaves, like he begs her not to go and says he doesn’t know if he will recover if she leaves and yet she leaves anyway, they have such a big fight that on the day maxi leaves , riftan doesn’t even see her off but he appears hours later and almost throws himself into the sea in tears trying to go after her. That’s not even the worst of it like during her time at the tower she tells her friends that her husband is waiting for her outside the tower and she writes him letters so often but he never replies to any of them. And then she’s let out of the tower early after 3 years I think and she meets riftan on the battlefield and he is SO mean to her and embarrasses her every time she tries to talk to him in front of people yea i could go on tbh but there’s just a lot of hurt this season. It truly gets so so so much worse before it gets better

Why is he punished for beating her dad for touching his wife??? That makes no sense to meeee. Was there an explanation or is it just for the plot?

so ur saying the rage i have for him right now will not be the limit?? good lord i might have to sit this webtoon out until its completed, that sounds like another 2 seasons before we see any real progress between them

From the bottom of my heart it breaks me to say this but I don’t think I can read this season as a novel reader, this next season is about to be the most painful and excruciatingly frustrating season for some readers I’m actually looking forward to how many people explode out of anger over the next few months LMAO good luck everyone, I’ll be sure to come back after THAT happens
