duat is the underworld-- the place where the souls of the dead dwell. osiris is the ruler of duat so technically him taking seth's life means he'll have him in duat for eternity
and about anubis's body. it's a vessel osiris made so he can reach egypt/land of living/earth + use anubis's body to hinder seth's mission
i dont think osiris is going to release anubis. he just won't take over his body (cause seth pleaded 'you dont want to do it with me in that body' imeaning anything physical would involve osiris's body not osiris in anubis's body)
anubis's body is like a trump card for osiris if seth (or horus) ever rebel so releasing anubis is highly unlikely unless horus awakens and changes the dynamics of duat
