I'm not sure how you misunderstood that, I'm not one for beastiality either, but in my perspective, this just shows how much of a vile person Chase's brother can be and not at all author's intention for readers to think that there could be possible beastiality when we all know it was Josh who Chase had sex with. Grayson clearly wants to fuck with Chase's psyche and it's working.
in the "if you can" series being a dominant alpha is almost treated like a curse, a condition where your instincts dominate you, and your mind is not normal neither, so some dom alphas dont even feel/think like normal ppl. The mention of bestiality is to show the extreme point where you could be driven if you ignore your instincts. its disgusting and a total nightmare, thats why Chase has a traumatic response to dogs, he doesnt want to act like an animal, he doesnt want to be a dom alpha. Its the instincts vs reason
Its also to show how abnormal is Grayson, thinking that is a best solution than suffering in pain, because hes unable to feel and have morality like the rest of the people

Okay so I know that there was no actual beastiality (and I hope it stays that fucking way) but why the fuck did the author even put that in the story??? Like I know it's for the sake of shock value but the author is pretty disgusting for considering adding that. Since it got mentioned I was just hoping it was a stupid joke but the author genuinely using it as a plot device is so gross. I came here for the eventual romance, and adding any possible rape and beastiality plotlines will ruin this completely. Ugh
