both of them are right to a certain degree, honestly. luke wants andrew to be able to develop healthy relationships outside of their romantic relationship, especially bc he’s aware of andrew’s traumatic past. isolating yourself to just you and your partner can be dangerous, since it can lead to toxicity, codependency, and insecurities. when you dedicate your entire life to your partner, it often creates jealousy or resentment, bc you start to believe that every interaction they have with someone else carries a hidden meaning. it becomes easy to compare yourself to others and to feel like you’re not enough, when in reality it’s completely normal and necessary for your partner to socialize with other people for their own wellbeing. however, andrew is also correct in the sense that luke can’t force him to interact with people he doesn’t feel comfortable around, especially given his traumatic past. It’s not easy to let your guard down after being sexually harassed and then ignored when you reached out for help. luke also has to understand that some people are naturally more introverted than others, and that’s perfectly fine and healthy. it was a bit upsetting to see how luke chose to “understand” bruno after bruno admitted that he wouldn’t stop messing up luke’s role, yet contradicted himself when andrew tried to explain why he threatened bruno. in the end, they’re just young college students who are bound to make silly mistakes. im hoping that both of them will eventually admit their faults and learn to accept their differences.
Not to mention that Andrew was betrayed by those closest to him who should have looked out for him and that caused him to learn a harsh lesson that I imagine he doesn't want Luke to suffer through as well.
