First time I see in a work of this type (omegaverse) an exploration about the dark side of 'bonding'/'imprinting' and the consequences when it's unrequited, denied or repressed. It's dangerous enough that make a man do insane things... dark feelings lead to dark actions... both of them did such terrible things. ML more than the Mc definitely but it's all because the bonding going wrong. Of course, there are other aspects, like character's backgrounds and personalities that played a big role but it's so sad that another could have been the story if both of them were more honest and less proud.
