i dont know it just doesnt sit right with me that the slave character is an irredeemable villain

    honestly I agree, but I don’t think he’s irredeemable per say. Penelope admits she used him and honestly I deter her for that. But she does acknowledge that and she does acknowledge what she did was wrong. He is a redeemable character, I believe, but it sucks that he became a villain when all he wanted was to have a life beyond being a slave and bring justice to his nation, and then later the girl who bought him as a slave, used him and essentially threw him away whenever she could, did not return his feelings he felt angry, which is justifiable in my opinion. I just think he’s a sad character and out of all the love interests, to make him the ‘evil’ one sucks. No one usually is going to hate on the main character for their wrongdoing so it lays on the fault of the side character.
