Can I be honest? This is just my personal view. I didn't like him attacking the ex. It felt idiotic, unnecessary, out of place, & weird. Why yes the ex needs a good knock up side his head I just dont think this was the moment. He attack him because he spoke the truth. I get he was antagonizing him. But if I'm honest physical violence wasn't really needed. He could've talk and shut him down but you know why he couldn't because it was true. His anger was misplaced he really wanted to beat up the Mc but instead took it on the ex.... Yesss I get the ex is a terrible human being but him & Mc share similar attributes they're almost 2 sides of the same coin. In my opinion the ML needed to hear that because yes he looks a fool a DAMN fool chasing after someone who will constantly keep running from him because he is determined to destroy himself. && is ultimately going to destroy him in the process. I get that his childhood wasn't great he had a father who didn't show love and was physically abusive. But I think Mc really lacks in areas he rather run and destroy himself and those around him. && then blame his father when He could've had easily chosen a different path. Maybe I'm just becoming to desensitized or overthinking to these types of stories. But it is fiction so hey.
