This is my first Cakeverse read, and I think it’s a good introduction to the verse—but I still have a lot of questions. For example, in the last panel of Ch. 6, the other fork’s actions seem to imply that he noticed MC is a cake. I thought forks could only identify a cake by tasting them?
Also, is there a way for a cake and fork to be exclusive to each other? If not, wouldn’t that be dangerous for cakes in general—not just those with partners—since not all forks are as kind as the ML, and some might even go feral? Considering forks are the predators in this universe, I feel like some form of bonding or exclusive tasting should exist as a protective measure.
Another thing: the story implied that the cake MC only discovered he was a cake when a fork tasted him, but forks already know they’re forks because they can’t taste anything except cakes. Why is that?
Overall, it’s an interesting universe and I might try another Cakeverse story in the future—but I’ll probably skip the extreme parts of the lore, like c*nnibal*sm.
