Why is the rating for this so high if everyone hates it? I haven’t read it

It used to be good. Like the ML was a red flag yandere, but still "likeable" (I like yanderes, sue me). But then later on, he just became a psycho. And he became way too creepy and poor MC's life is just getting shittier and he can't get away from him. For me, now there's nothing romantic in it. You know how people like red flags in books but not in real life? But this ML feels way too real, like this is your abusive creepy ex that you keep trying to get away from. Idk, but I have stopped reading it now at least.
