Tbh, Andrew should've told Luke and let him deal with his as he wants as a separate issue, but again they ARE in a relationship and should share their difficulties... they are both in the wrong imo. But Luke should also understand Andrew's point of view. There will ALWAYS be people who will use you to get whatever they want if they can, and if you avoid it they WILL get more bold and it can cost you your life. Andrew knows this side of people from him growing up in it, hence I completely understand his avoidance towards them as I am very similar cause realistically I've been through similar shit. The difference is, they both have different ideas or ideals to be with each other, one wants friends and values them and the other only wants their S.O, no one else. The problem is the person you are dating should be a higher priority than just a "friend" sure you're able to be there and help a friend, but you are with someone and care for them much more than a friend and being with them means you help each other through things in life together. Luke is oblivious to the fact that there are dangerous people and you can't always talk things out, Andrew is oblivious to the fact that not all people are bad people, just he prefers to not have close ties to anyone because of his bad experiences (kind of like me, but I have close people in my life I trust now that actually care for me and no more toxic people in my life now, I have boundaries to keep them out and protect myself), so it's both sides imo, but Andrew did try to do what is normally protecting your lover and that's what should be done, although communication goes a long way instead of hiding it, cause usually hiding it makes it much worse in the long run. That's what I believe.
