I think they’re referring to her past lives as dreams, because the way they manifest and she remembers them in the next life are through dreams. Plus her past memories and the experiences she went through in those past lives were so traumatic and painful, the worst parts seem to repeat in nightmares as well. There are still bits and pieces she is remembering, which are hellish dreams to her. Carcel is telling her that she is here now and no longer in those lives basically, and she doesn’t have to hold onto them anymore
