Do you know how peak this would have been if the author learned to pace the story properly and refine the characters a bit?

I mean, I only read like 80 chapters before I dropped it, but this is lowk the first BL I've read where we get to see the MC actually get therapy. It was pretty interesting to see. That right there was the only reason I continued for as long as I did, I wanted to see him get better.

The plot was kinda messy and the characters were all over the place. The time skips were actually crazy, out of nowhere, and it made ir seem like a lot was just glazed over, like a bad memory. Which I'm sure that was how the MC was feeling, but to just skip over things without even giving him time to grieve.

There was that one time where the MC mentioned he worked some place that gave him free lodging, and getting was raped multiple times by the men also working there. As if the trauma he already went through wasn't bad enough. I think at that point, the author was trying to make their audience sympathize with the MC even though I'm pretty sure all of us already did at that point. It was liek they were saying, well it's not that bad, let's give him more. Like hello? He lost his father, broke up with his boyfriend, give up his dream yo be a lawyer, had to move somewhere far away, work multiple jobs, etc. And he was like 20 yo.

It definitely would have been an interesting read if the author just calmed tf down, and actually like the MC.
