I agree with you. Honestly I think rape is a worse offense than murder. However I also think it's up to Sejin to decide how to handle Ido, regardless of our feelings about it. Has he ultimately forgiven him? I think it's more that he's decided that the feelings he has for Ido in this life are more important than Idos actions in his past life. I think he acknowledges the changes and repentance from Ido (even if he thinks Ido is going about it wrong).
I also like that in this story, unlike a lot of other BLs, they are dwelling on the topic versus the usual " you raped me because you love me? That's acceptable! End Story". I wish rape wasn't a trope in these stories, but that doesn't mean a story that has rape in it isn't good. I've come across many novels that have the act in it. It's not a topic we can ignore because it's so awful, when it's something that happens (probably) ever minute in this world. It's also quite realistic because it's a common offense in marriages, but at least Sejin has the choice to walk away. Many people don't.
For what it's worth, I'm defending Sejin and his choices in all this, not rape. If Sejin had chosen to kick Ido out of his life, I would support that too.
