    nah it's correct he did call them that lol
    but iirc it's pretty normal to call your friend's parents as mom/dad accompanied with formal honorifics which isnt really captured in the english language.

    but it's definitely a choice; Terry could have easily called them aunt/uncle instead. ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶

    True that. For us, a close friend's mom, we can either call her auntie, or [friend]'s mom, or Ma [her name]. Of course, not in English, but in my native language.

    Sometimes it's hard to translate things well in English. Like, we might call a guy "brother", but that doesn't mean he's our brother. He's just an older guy that we know. English is too literal.
