it’s subtle at the moment but the author has been hinting at the fact that he is the same guy from the alternate reality. he’s possessive of her and it’s becoming evident. he most likely remembers how he treated her previously and he wants to get close to her which means there’s a reason why he ended up becoming evil and tormenting her which will probably be one of the twists in the story. the feelings he had for her as an adolescence are still strong clearly. the author will probably end up teasing us more about him being the killer for a while before everything goes to shit
