I’m sorry but what actions? You do realize that they’re both grown adults right?

Not really. There is a huge misconception that grooming is only from older adults towards younger. It’s heavily also due to power dynamics, and can happen to a young adult. I haven’t read the latest chapter properly though, I’m half asleep so forgive me if I don’t know their age and occupation. Basically manipulation and power plays into grooming, not just age alone, also life experience.

If that new guy is in a higher position of power, I’d consider it creepy and odd. But that’s just me!

Yeah there's a lot of misconceptions about grooming in general on the internet haha. It's the means in which someone attempts to establish an 'emotional' connection, so as to exploit a vulnerable person and facilitate their abuse (i.e., make them like me so they don't dob me in). Grooming is most often used in the context of child sexual abuse. I agree, the factors you listed such as life experience, roles, power imbalance are all aspects which can contribute.

In saying that - Hayden is, a fully grown adult...who had graduated from university. His (also adult) colleague seems to be trying to hit on him. Which seems to be a pattern with younger co stars. While inappropriate, yeah not grooming. But definitely implied he himself was exploited by his directors ex husband when a teenager.

I do realllly like how this story portrays that though, this subtle commentry. People who feel disempowered and exploited often seek to place themselves back where they feel in control. Really clever of the author to tap on that given what's happened to Brett.
