Again, who cares? It's not like straight omegaverse is trying to completely repace or erase the typical omegaverse, it's just a different perspective of the same universe. Female omegas have always existed even in BLs, although not the focus. Omegaverse is not just male omegas, if so you could say the same thing about beta protagonists: what's the point of the mc being a beta instead of an omega? Or even about alphaxalpha BLs: what's the point if none of them is an omega and there are no kids? I mean nothing wrong if you don't like it, but that doesn't mean it shouldn't exist. Authors have been playing around with this genre a lot, it's nothing new.
I'm not trying to argue, I just genuinely don't see how this is a problem or why it would bother people so much
Oh my fucking God, why is it such a tragedy for an omegaverse to be straight? There are millions of omegaverse BLs, isn't it nice to have something different once in a while? I don't see people arguing under BLs with genres such as isekai/rofan, martial arts, hunterverse (not guideverse) etc. about "the gays trying to be included in genres that started as straight romance/no romance". I actually actively look for stories that include tropes that are usually outside the norm for that genre of romance because, isn't it refreshing? In this case just consider it as a normal STRAIGHT SMUT with an extra flavor of omegaverse, and just DON'T READ if straight smut is not your preference, that's all.
What's even the problem? Are we gatekeeping genres now? Just let writers experiment wtf (not that straight omegaverse was ever such a new concept but you get what I mean)
