I'm 100% sure that you are the reader every author/mangaka ever dreams of.
This comment healed a part of me.
I'm sick of people saying stuff like "dohu should disappear so that juheon will be miserable..." SHUT UP!!! Did they even read the same manhwa as i did!? Juheon suffered for this distance as still does so very much. Same goes for Dohu. But one wants to not be hurt any further while other wants nothing more than to clear the misunderstanding.
BOTH ARE SUFFERING AND BOTH ARE HEALING THROUGH THIS ARC!! THIS AIN'T A ONE SIDED REDEMPTION ARC OR SHIT. THIS IS A REUNION ARC!
Not to elongate the thread further but both you & op are right. As you said: This is rightfully a reunion arc meant for them to understand that what they had back in college was simply scratching the surface. And now that they're both full-fledged independent working adults they can and should patch up each other's hearts while gaining a deeper understanding of one another and be open to the possibility of rediscovering the true nature of their emotions for each other. And that's beautiful.

I’ve been following the argument over the Season 2 breakup with some people siding with Dohu and others with Juheon—and I truly believe that both characters are right and wrong in this situation. While the immediate answer is a lack of communication, the bigger reason for their struggle is that they simply didn't date long enough to properly understand each other's deepest vulnerabilities.
My baby Dohu's seemingly "careless" nature where he dismisses things as "small issues" stems entirely from his past trauma; his history of being bullied and misunderstood taught him to distance himself and move on for self-preservation, especially after being seen as a guy who lacks to understand the room. This can be seen more towards his emotional intelligence or simply lacks interrelationship.
In Season 3, we see clearly how much he genuinely loved Juheon, becoming almost depressed after he left. Both characters loved deeply, but their ways of expressing that love were completely different, which is so realistic to how boys and humans are
As for Juheon, he is the greenest flag for me, but his past where people constantly took advantage of him made it incredibly difficult for him to trust. In the final chapters of Season 2, Juheon was already dealing with the immense stress of his disturbing family past, which he desperately wanted to put behind him. Finding out the person he trusted was "using" him for inspiration, even unintentionally, shattered his already fragile trust. What he wanted in that moment wasn't silence, but a quick, genuine explanation. However, Dohu couldn't give him one. his own trauma caused him to minimise the issue, fearing that anything he said would be twisted and cause more pain, hence his inability to properly explain himself.
Juheon's decision to then leave him and everyone else, though a drastic action, was likely a trauma response, a desperate bid for silence because he was tired of feeling like everyone was using him, ( but I believe some of them did not like Jinseok, I hope he did not) and with so much stress, he just wanted to quit everything.
In Season 3, we now see Juheon acting very cocky, and I believe this is a new emotional wall he's put up, he's trying to cope and prevent himself from making the mistake of trusting someone again.
Ultimately, both of them are scared, and their relationship broke because their pasts forced them into coping mechanisms that made them incapable of connecting when they needed it most. I love that the author showed us their histories, proving that their actions are deeply human and rooted in trauma.
Honestly, I'm hooked because the story feels so real and complex
I didn't expect the breakup chapter to completely shatter me, but it did! ( I couldn’t sleep at night and had to call my friend)
Despite the pain, I believe they will end up together, and I'm so excited for Season 3. (anxious to be precise hahaha)
Let’s hope for the best and also wait for Juheon side of story (About why he left), Because I think the author will show us that to like we almost got a hint of him in chapter 75
I love both these characters, and I'm just sharing my thoughts
I'm not looking to start any drama, promise!
Sorry if I missed something
