I'm firm believer of the responsibility is on the person who fell in love and not make the other person feel burdened about it so the whole 'make me give up' is so wrong to me. He was the one who fell in love the other person shouldn't have to make him give up, it is his own responsibility. And i dunno about this couple too, they are weird for just going along with everything for him.
