idk we quite literally opened up the story in the first chapter w dubcon when little a milked Milton. the rationale there was the same here in that kendrick could be hurt severely if the egg laying doesnt go well.
Up until ch 19 it's all been consent in dubious territory, seeing that little A knows what he was doing but still decided to continue was crazy..I just put my phone down for a few minutes and reflected on it and decided that sleep was definitely better
I think it's more so the fact that little A is aware what he's doing wasn't consensual but shrugging it off anyways is what threw me off completely, at first I thought he was just incredibly stupid and genuinely thinking what he was doing was the right thing (still bad ik) ughh I hate the hypnotized plotline
That's what I thought at first too, especially after that bit when they showed that he had definitely experienced a seriously traumatic event. I had assumed that once we get tackle his backstory, we'll get to understand why he seems to not understand consent and why he seems so..Gullible? Stupid?
But know now that he knows what he's doing and then proceeds to brush it off ticked me off
Exactly my thought process, I was thinking maybe something happened with his uncle that's why he's a bit loopdeloop in the head....but no he was infact aware of his actions and I'm very thrown off this
I completely get that this was nonconsensual and that hes def getting gratification from the acts but I do wanna say that Kendrick is also part chicken and actively laying eggs while having trouble, chickens can get very hurt/sick to the point of death when they become egg-bound so its not like hes doing it for no reason. I mean we could def have the conversation abt consent around medical intervention (assisted suicide for example being highly controversial) but to act like Little A violating consent knowingly is out of character for him is ??? considering the first time he helped Kendrick it was when he was actively being held down by fluffy and pleading for him to stop

I also feel a certain way about this chapter （/TДT)/ I understand the thing about laying eggs being dangerous, the risk of becoming egg-bound and all, but at first I thought that after Little A put him in that catatonic state, he'd wait for Kendrick to "snap out of it" and *then* they'd have a talk about how he needs help and all.
I def wasn't expecting for him to go down on him WHILE he's basically under hypnosis
If it were me on Kendrick's place, I'd definitely feel HORRIBLE afterwards and even disgusting, I'd definitely need therapy for that if not something stronger. I don't give a damn if my life is at risk or not, if I am sane and said NO, it's NO until I feel safe and convinced enough to finally say yes. But idk, maybe I am feeling too much empathy over a 2D character.
No yeah I get it my point is that this story is riddled w dubcon and I think most readers have been able to not think deeply abt it bc the situation of bottoms pleading to stop or being depicted as very uncomfortable/non-enthusiastic abt sex has been normalized in bl......but I think this specific chapter is off putting in particular (even for me despite the stance I have lol) bc lil a explicitly says that hes choosing to violate/disregard consent at that moment. Like had he not said this i think more ppl wouldn't have thought twice abt this chapter. Also im sure you and most ppl aren't really familiar with hypnosis kinks either bc its not widely portrayed even in bl so like
I dunno, everything else was tenuously consensual up to this point but now Little A is contemplating whether his partner consented, deciding he probably actually said No---and then going for it anyway. Everything else where consent wasn't obvious was kinda tied up in the weirdness of their world and easy to hand wave away but Ch 20 isn't that way. Vibe killed. Have fun y'all
