Holy hell—rereading that newly posted (old) chapter 19 after finishing the story hits COMPLETELY differently. It’s so fucking creepy. Also doesn’t that mean that assistant guy isn’t real, but an aberration of the ML—aka he literally will not let her escape him (not in death, not with other people, not even in her own head).
