I 100% agree. They could have just started the dynamic with the omega’s dependency on the alpha’s pheromones without it being sexual like they could have just sat and cuddled for a while until the omega got better or they could of had the alpha in the same room without assaulting the omega. I think the denial and anger from the mc just comes from the insecurity of being an omega and how it obstructs him from reaching his full potential and almost taken advantage of and being taken advantage of by 2 alphas reinforces his insecurity so he actually has a reason to be sad
The whole omegaverse as a genre is so complex and interesting as a concept. It is a shame that it's reduced most of the time into an excuse to show rapey situations.
Shit like this really pisses me off. I hate how authors portray omegas and how they “set themselves up to be raped”, like that’s just fucking disgusting. THEN, we even have the ml basically assaulting him with his pheromones. Why is it to difficult to create something consensual and calm, instead of a horn fest to glorify rape and “trying to beat adversity” masking the fact that they don’t understand the trials and tribulations of FIGHTING oppression themselves. I need a INTELLIGENT author that understands the world and its logic and create an Omegaverse story outta that because I’m sick of the bs.
