They really wanted to show it off didn't they? How many times did we get to see it? 4? Christ, we get it, their first meeting was beyond shitty. Don't need to keep rehashing the same exact scene over and over again. I see why it has the rating it does. It's a good reflection on the quality. The art is great, the pacing slow, the ML shitty, and the world building is just an after thought. I will never understand why espers and guides in these guideverses let themselves be treated as second class citizens. Literally the power of gods, can't lift a finger against ordinary people. It's so obvious the military is raising these children in order to mind wash them and control them, despite how destructive that is to humanity. They could have a whole lot more espers to protect humanity and fight off the monsters but they kill a huge chunk of them off if they aren't perfect for the military to control or because they manifest later in life. The abuse and desposability the espers and guides suffer is unreal. I know they've been conditioned to accept it, but you would think that eventually a few as adults would push back against it with their godly powers.
