Maybe it’s one of those cases that he just didn’t remember till he met Akira?
He might have liked Makoto cause he has a type. Both the brothers have similar eye and hair colors and both are generally kind boys (in slightly different manners but they have magnetic personalities).
That’s my guess at least if what we saw was an actual flashback and not some representational dream Kaede had.
so did kaede's flashback actually happen, or is that just a route thing? bc if it did happen, then it would explain why he's inlove with akira, but it wouldn't explain why he's inlove with makoto initially.
