"They don't seem that bad" in your pov. Alot of readers can feel and SEE how mc is feeling when she was ostracized and KILLED by the stupid dad and brother. What's even more insane is that she looks the mom but just cuz she doesn't have the precious power she's suddenly not the kid? And let's say if she's NOT the kid, they killed this poor skinny kid who didn't do anything
I said they dont seem bad because of how they're acting currently. The typical plot from one of these mangas/manhwa is they continue their old behaviour from their "past" life, you see little to no change in how they behave from the flashbacks of the MC and POV of the MC.
Thats why i think this manhwa is rushed as it doesn't really delve into what caused it to end like that, the present dad couldn't give 2 shits about her having powers or not so literally what changed? My guess is nothing, the creator wanted to give us a reason to hate the imperial family at the start by making it seem like they were cruel, but it doesnt add up considering the only thing the dad and son cared about(Present +PAST) was getting back their daughter and sister. It just seems like another story where the creator wanted to get on with the plot and not focus on the background info
