It’s her fate. It is also Miguel’s fate to be caught offguard by the news. Technically, there is only one life so it happens this way every time. Only Ines and Carcel were living differently because they were living outside their fate but ultimately, it will only be one life for them then passing on into eternity. Or, as Ines puts it, dying properly/permanently because the world must move on and their descendants and future generations must continue on.
