Honestly the author clearly only knows how to write villains well so they should've just committed to making everyone evil / pyscho assholes and there would've been more chemistry. Only Hyeon was the most normal and adjusted though and he did get manipulated as hell which fit.
There were some sections where the interactions were great, like end of S1, but the author did not know how to move the story and development of the characters forward without throwing some dumb ass drama in. Not even good fucking drama! It was contrived and completely externally irrelevant to the characters.
I think the actions of the leads could be more justified had they leaned into the aspect of alpha x omega obsessions but they did not even touch that at all. Some of the points on this were so shallow even though it really would've been the better direction to explore. Going from it's my fault to one sentence saying I understand why it's my fault now is not fucking actual development lmao. Only Hyeon still knows the whole story about how he couldn't find Mido! Like they did not tell each other shit still.
