Same reason men look down onwomen in top positions. They somehow can't believe Tha at someone they dem to be "inferior" can be better than them. Ours an ego thing. They'd rather believe someone is lying or something shady is happening.

I just can't understand why the others keep looking down on sehyun. Even if he's a celestial he's freaking top 1? Like he's the only one at the level 80+ top of the tower 40 levels higher than the second. That's more than enough proof that he's strong and capable i mean cmon they don't even get past the level 40 of the tower.
Did I miss something? It's been so long since I've read season one but as far as i remember the only reason why they're still mocking him is because he's a celestial, a weak race, that's it. Like a stereotype. Is it mentioned in the novel?
