It's a rare story that explores what would realistically happen with a young chosen one being the strongest and only survivor of an adventure. There is delicate balance between the depression of being the survivor and hope left by the ones who died. The revengers were very good people. They knew chaeyoon would survive but be destroyed mentally afterwards that most of them left wills that can help him cope and heal. You can't even blame the ones that asked him to leave messages to their families. Most people would have done that, but I like that the writers included this.
Funny that for a BL story, this is first and foremost a story of surviving and searching for a reason to move forward. It doesn't lecture you for having heavy thoughts from a traumatic event. Just like how once ML realized the extent of Chaeyoon's suicidal tendency, he balances between having Chaeyoon vent/talk out his feelings and leaving space for him. It's nice.
