I've heard stories about rulers who grew out hair precisely for that reason, kinda like mocking them for not being able to hurt the ruler even with his long luscious hair putting him in disadvantage. But on the other side, my land had female rulers who went to war, they just tied their hair up. Tarkan could be doing either

If tarcan has been fighting since 10 and he has lonh hair of that length, does he braid it for battle? I feel like having long hair would pose as a threat for enemies to grab during battle. But also this is a weird historical manhwa where its got camera technology (so maybe like victorian (?) Edwardian (?) Ish era?) Plus magic/aura tech (portals and shit). So who knows!
