Nothing justifies what mathias did to layla,bcs he couldn't get her to bed so easily,make her his Mistress,like throwing a tantrum,he constantly troubled her.But that's what i love about this love story that it wasn't EASY.
For the Devil learning to Love,for the red flag to transform into green.All thanks to Layla,a woman of strength.I understand why many hate this novel bcs they think the fans like it just bcs ML is hot even though he does terrible things.Indeed.But why don't they understand that it's not the typical love story,why won't they see the character development Mathias has in the end,why won't they forgive him,when even God gives a second chance to greatest of sinners. I think this one sure is not for the ordinary ones,people who like simple stories,where one perfect man falls in love with another perfect woman,and the society is the enemy that needs to be overcome.Here though,the enemy was Mathias himself,his personality,which was a result of upbringing?his environment?idk,but yeah he isn't normal.The fact that he was raised to be perfect,born in the selfish noble society,he didn't understand emotions,he didn't understand love.All he saw was Lust,Nobles keeping mistresses,and so he thought it was the same,he could do the same to Layla. But Love means respecting the other person's wishes too.And he didn't think it was necessary,bcs he didn't know what love was,and selfishness was all that his Noble upbringing taught him.In the end,when the separation finally made him realise it wasn't just lust.Only then he learned to respect Layla's feelings,and for her happiness,let Her Go,even though he'd be in constant tormant doing so(He said this in the novel) What more do you want guys.Isn't it boring if someone's too perfect,though some flaws are disgusting,like here in Mathias.But in the end,He became a better Man.He married Layla,not giving a damn about the society.Unlike many other toxic MLs out there who remain shitty till the end and the FL forgives them for no good reason. I'm not justifying his actions,really.Just saying everyone has flaws bcs of which they do mistakes,that can even hurt others,but that doesn't mean they don't deserve to grow,and when they are willing to,isn't it kindness to give them that chance,to forgive them.All is well,that ends well. I don't care what others say.I love this Novel.I love the Author.And i also love the Artist who drew this ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ﾉ~
