Let me glaze the writing real quick I love the subleness in the protagonist's villainess(?) He isn't straight up physically hurting the mc by beating him up, his way of hurt is to beat around the bush and slither into the mc's life and mental like a parasite with legs He is manipulatove in his way of knowing where to tug and when to stop, he knows when the mc is about to snap so he just makes him reach that point and then proceed to "comfort" him I don't think I've ever hated a written character this much in a while AND THE WAY THEY PORTRAY THE MC'S FEAR OF HIS FATHER The heated iron rod is such a good touch, in many cultures (or atleast in mine) being threatened to be burned with a metal rod is a frequent threat parents use but in most cases they never do it cuz its an absurd thing to do to your own child, so seeing it being done THIS horrifically (to the face and it actually piercing skin) is actually chilling ANDAND the contrast between ilwoo and that fucker is so beautifully portrayed too One who causes pain by asking way too many questions and pulling on fears he knows will affect the mc just to later "comfort him" by cementing said fears While the other (ilwoo) offers gentle pats and words of comfort with silence out of genuine respect, and care for him. Not questioning what is bothering him, for what matters rn is how hurt the mc is feeling and ilwoo need to be THERE for him Can y'all tell that im a fan?
Let me glaze the writing real quick
I love the subleness in the protagonist's villainess(?)
He isn't straight up physically hurting the mc by beating him up, his way of hurt is to beat around the bush and slither into the mc's life and mental like a parasite with legs
He is manipulatove in his way of knowing where to tug and when to stop, he knows when the mc is about to snap so he just makes him reach that point and then proceed to "comfort" him
I don't think I've ever hated a written character this much in a while
AND THE WAY THEY PORTRAY THE MC'S FEAR OF HIS FATHER
The heated iron rod is such a good touch, in many cultures (or atleast in mine) being threatened to be burned with a metal rod is a frequent threat parents use but in most cases they never do it cuz its an absurd thing to do to your own child, so seeing it being done THIS horrifically (to the face and it actually piercing skin) is actually chilling
ANDAND the contrast between ilwoo and that fucker is so beautifully portrayed too
One who causes pain by asking way too many questions and pulling on fears he knows will affect the mc just to later "comfort him" by cementing said fears
While the other (ilwoo) offers gentle pats and words of comfort with silence out of genuine respect, and care for him. Not questioning what is bothering him, for what matters rn is how hurt the mc is feeling and ilwoo need to be THERE for him
Can y'all tell that im a fan?
