The husband keeps shutting her down emotionally and tries to patch everything up with gifts instead of real communication. That’s not romance — that’s just empty “makeup scenes” with no growth. If the spoilers are true and they get back together without him fixing anything, I’m out. I know some readers like this type of drama, but these constant misunderstandings and “forgive and forget” patterns just don’t do it for me.
