Loving the development

Loving this development, so much drama and tension and angst. One could easily tell Yeonjo would be caught by heeryang and he wouldn't leave any stone unturned to bring yeonjo back. I would rather have preferred yeonjo to remain free for some more time thinking it would bring heeryang to the edge but oh well, this works too. plus also anticipating the northern army's next move and how heeryang, one of the most consistently well written semes I have read, will respond to it. I really like his character. Author you are doing such a good job muah.

Also, this manhwa has one of the most well written dialogues of all the manhwas i have ever read. Refined, well thought out, focused, articulate and yet very emotive and almost poetic. It's not a fair comparison as so many manhwas have terrible amateurish dialogues but nevertheless, steel under silk shines through.

    100% agree

I agree with everything you've said, but I think the author will ruin it by forcing a happily-ever-after. I wish just once one of these authors had the guts to end a tragedy as a tragedy. I'm not a big fan of manhuas, but you know which one is legend? Ten Years I Loved You the Most. No one is forgetting that one anytime soon. Forcing a happy ending trivializes the character's suffering, and turns the whole story into schlock

I get what you mean, often the semes are written to cross so many boundaries that it's difficult to imagine their redemption arc that feels organic. For eg, legs that won't walk, formless, toxin etc.

However this writer is more talented than any of them. this manhwa basically examines and explores if love can truly exist between sworn enemies, and so far the author has done a good job writing it. I think they might just surprise you. The leads will definitely get together, the author talked about it in their notes right after season one. They talked in detail about how difficult it was to write season one which has 79 chapters. Most BLs finish their first season by 30-40 chapters and they admitted they went totally overboard because such was the theme of the story. this writer took their time and worked meticulously so as to make the characters feel believable which is more than what I can say for most bl writers, so I am choosing to put my trust in them. ))

He slaughtered his whole family. I couldn't forgive God himself for that.

Which makes the dramatic force of it that much stronger in capable hands. You would be surprised how often it happens in this world still, even though this story is set in joseon era. There are many civil war torn countries, or areas where communal riots took place where people from one community/sect/religion/some other identity killed their own neighbours. when the dust settled, the victims were bound to live with the same people that brutally murdered their families because they had nowhere else to go. Compromises happened as time passed, and some communities now live together with a tentative trust. It's not romantic or anything of course, if anything it's tragic, what I am saying is that it still happens and it's interesting to see an intelligent writer dissecting the concept in a fiction format.

Jfc indeed. It's still happening in Sudan. The civil war has already resulted in the extermination of 150000 people and continuing. Not to depress you but you can also check out nellie massacre. Over 4000 people were killed in a span of seven hours in a communal riot. Many families from that time from both sides still live in the same area. One of the most brutal coups in history was delivered by Pol Pot, cambodian dictator. He made his soldiers kill their own families. The world is a very dark place.

Was directed at you. Your responses reek of 'sure, they cut off your hand, but what if you used your fingers to...' I am already aware of the situation in Sudan. Don't worry though, as soon as they realize how sexy they are to each other I am sure it will work itself out

Ah if that's your takeaway from my comment, then that's a very ignorant view. Good stories represent the good the bad and the evil because that's what the world is made of and that's what actual humans experiences are like. World is complex so are humans and and their stories need to be represented. There are very few such stories in the genre and I am glad talented writers pick up controversial themes and portray them with the diligence it requires.
