Am I the only one who’s confused about Seunghyun and his brother’s relationship?

When the brother was first introduced, he came across as someone who’s annoying and like to meddle in his sibling’s affairs. Also I thought Seunghyun had an awkward relationship with him since the accident when Seunghyun overheard his brother talking about how Seunghyun can’t do anything on his own. But there are also times when they seem still close. I can’t really grasp how their relationship is.

I feel like the favoritism made their relationship awkward and strained... Because on the flashbacks we can see that they used to be close, but as the brother grew up the pressure on him grew too, making him extra busy, also, the parents didn't let mc get near because he was a "bother" to his brother... The only reason their relationship grew distant was because of their own parents. Also could be one of the reasons why the brother doesn't talk to them anymore

I get where their awkwardness comes from. But what I still can’t fully grasp is their interactions with each other. I sometimes feel like they’re awkward, but other times feel like they’re chummy. How the author pictures their relationship is kinda inconsistent imo.

not really. it's pretty realistic to me as someone who grew up with siblings. I felt awkward with them specially the one that I always fight with (cause she has attitude problems) and sometimes I can crack a joke with her. I felt distant at some point cause we have lots of miscommunications but at the end of the day, she's still my sister.

I also have siblings and I’d say I’m close with them, though there are times when things get a bit awkward too. But when it comes to writing stories I think it’s important to stay consistent in how the characters’ relationships are portrayed even if you want to show both the awkwardness and the closeness. If you don’t feel confused by how the author depicts the brothers, then that’s good for you. It might just come down to different perceptions.
