I read a good comment about this sequel in another site and it put things into perspective for me... It really left a bad taste for me too with what Rou said, and I bet Yoshino would have had his heart broken if he heard it.
Rou definitely thought he was just being a good caring friend, but the moment he was told to flip the situation and think that if it was Yoshino who was in his place saying and doing what he did, that's when he realized he was causing a misunderstanding/mistake.
It also does stay true to the first book. This is also Rou's first serious relationship (iirc since he didn't lile chasing ppl and just led them on the moment he felt they like him) and I guess he thought he wasn't doing something that would cast doubt. (Obviously it did. Love that Sui called him a cheater directly cos. We see what you're doing and saying bruh.)
While it's good to see Rou's side of the story, I really wish it was told another way. (I'm still going to pretend this sequel doesn't exist. My heart hurts for Yoshino.)
