It’s a German bass bow (I play the bass) but he’s definitely not holding right. It’s supposed to be your middle finger and ring finger inside and then your palm is on the end of the bow and your pointer is near the frog and your pinky on the bottom. It’s more comfortable but the way he’s playing might as well be as tiring as a French bow
Okay, phew! I know that was off!
Props for spirit. I gave in after the fishing bet. Also, the way he was holding the bow...maybe someone else can come to defense, but that's an uncomfortable way to hold it on ANY string instrument. I could be wrong, I only played smaller ones.
