They have become very cliché. The only thing that’s keeping straight manhwas afloat are the reincarnation and recessions trope. Modern straight manhwas are so shit.
TOTWF - Have potential but the main storyline is focused on sex than actual plot
OPL - Plot has become messy and questionable
MMS - 98% sex 2% storyline
If there’s a straight manhwa I’d recomment, it’s “Talk to Me” which is about a girl who had a hard time expressing her sexual desires to her boyfriend. There might be a lot of sex but at least THAT’S WHAT THE STORY IS ABOUT???
Personal taste but I love my women strong and independent. So I don’t like shy and cutesy FLs
they yearn better but 98% of the tops are rapist
Not generalizing ok?! I know there ARE good straight manhwas but idk, its just that ever since I have started reading BL n GL, straight manhwas or stories in general just had no appeal to me anymore. Especially in terms of yearning tropes, like I would literally throw a fade at someone if they tell me Straight stories have better yearning because NO! There's nothing special about yearning for someone you can ACTUALLY be in a relationship with where you are not under the scrutiny of other people. BUT queer people have to experience that all the time! They yearn better because most of the time they actually CANT get with the person they like because of the fear that other people would judge or even their family would judge them. For example Home far way. That manga is one of the best representations of what queer people actually have to go through just to love the person they want to love! That's just one of the reasons why Im kinda tired of straight manhwas but Im already yappin too much so..
