Unfortunately rape just so common in korean manwha. When honestly its not needed to be there in most cases. Someone also said “you have to be stupid to think the author isnt doing this because she doesnt think its hot” paraphrasing (their wording is a bit rude sorry to relay it) but they also go on to explain in the official korean comments they are loving the non-consent, and these are the comments the author has direct contact with. So its a bit hard to fully believe that the author is doing this purely for story and for the disturbing nature of it, of course it would be somewhat but yeah
i don't know about how Korean side is taking it but it is quite true that manhwa artist do that a lot, everything circles around rape for a quite portion of artist. I have abandoned lots of works cuz it was just so unnecessarily added, they think that's what sells which is heartbreaking ofc. But for this story where sex has been in same equation as violence since beginning it makes sense their first time would be nothing but traumatic for our suit guy and big chunk of readers (not kside) and this particular authors works if you have read before is always similar to that sex= violence even if it's not between main pair. Can't blame the readers tbh but for this particular work everyone should have lowkey seen it coming
Sex is not always used as a tool for just pleasure. it doesn't make you wrong for not liking it even if you knew their dynamic. It is supposed to make you feel unsettled and disgusted just as our guy there is feeling.
