No one is excusing it when they say that it’s in character and on theme. They’re just saying this is part of the narrative for people who seem to be completely blinded by this development despite the ML continuously practicing unsafe sex habits throughout the story
coercion has been involved the entire time, so why is it now disappointing now when the chapter before was rape? and the chapters before? the only people disappointed are the ones who only recognize rape when it involves pain otherwise those expectations would've been demolished so many chapters ago.
