the difference w this work is that unlike in almost 90% of bls where rape is fetishized and framed in a romantic light, here it’s deeply unsettling n uncomfortable. the author doesn’t try to make it look sexy or appealing, n incheol doesn’t suddenly enjoy being penetrated. that’s why, with how the worldbuilding has been unfolding n how we’ve seen how low incheol is willing to go for his job, the outcome felt expected.
I think not portraying rape romantically is minimum. Not to mention if this really is a “BL” it is highly likely they will end up together regardless, which is why rape scenes in yaoi are always gross 2 me. But yeah it’s pretty in character for this type of story to include that and clearly pyeonghwa likes violence so not unexpected

Let's not normalize this let's not normalize that....
C'mon gang
What do you want us to do
Cancel the author? Y'all freak out whenever someone writes about rape or any form of sexual assault like it don't happen in the real world. The world of fiction ain't sunflowers and dandelions bruh
This book is about coercion and the dirty things behind the scene in politics and all that shit
You definitely did not think they will have normal sex did you? I mean... look at pyeonghwa or whatever his name is.
The book ain't normal bro
The people ain't normal
Their lives ain't normal
Let's just be happy that this is at least a well written assault scene . And by well written I don't mean it was written for pleasure. No.
I mean it was depicted as what assault really fucking is. You see how disgusted and uncomfortable he was that he vomited? Yup
That's what it's supposed to be
So stop trying to shame people for writing about assault. It happens in our everyday lives. And if you can't stomach this type of thing it's best you drop the book now cus we might see worse. Who knows, especially considering what the book is about and the direction it's now heading
Let's all try to enjoy the book and see what comes after this.
