I feel like anyone who watches anime knows at least a little about the culture around appearance in school like it gets brought up if theres even remotely a highschool that they have to wear their uniforms and hair and stuff a certain way and will get write ups or have to do things for the class president or a teacher as 'punishment'.even in fantasy shows that have high schools they comment on how long or short skirts r, if their hair is flashy or done a certain way, and theres sometimes a passing comment about having to get permission to wear any alterations to the uniforms.
