MC never usually acts like that (being defensive), he rarely gets angry and even if he gets annoyed, he never lets it out. I think the reason he was getting visibly upset and defensive was because it wasn’t him, but his past-life self. I remember he was thinking something like “why do I feel so angry?”, kinda as if it wasn’t like him at all, and he had no reason to.
