I don't have spoilers but I think they're just from the same royal family ? Croed seems to have died while spending the remaining of his life by the dragon's side, I doubt he had any kind of descendents.

Is varabus going to be descendant of Crode? They look so alike they even have the same eye colour and they are both royals? Do any novel readers have spoilers?
