ya’ll do realize that FL has poor self-esteem and self-invalidation stemming from trauma (that btw plays a major part of who her character is and her “lore”) and that’s why she acts insecure, doesn’t feel like she’s worthy of anything than the very bare minimum, and weaker than you’d like her to be, right????
it would make absolutely no sense for her to become the character ya’ll desperately want her to be after everything she was put through at a very young age. if her mother didn’t literally traumatize and manipulate her from youth then she would’ve very likely grown to be more confident, strong, and self-assured, but obviously that’s not the case. so if that bothers and irritates you, go read another book with the kind of FL you want.
