Mmm...

We may not want to admit it, but gay relationships are much different than straight ones. Some gays I've grown up with and know are good people but have done things like cheating all with their own reasons and persepectives. They may not be right, but sometimes it is not as if they are heartless bastards undeserving of life. Whether they get a second chance is up to the other person. And keep in mind, Kou never explictly said they were exclusive. And more often than not, that's just how things go today. It was a dick move to do what he did and say that, but he's probably your average coward who never expected commitment who suddenly found himself wanting more and decided to cut it off. I don't think he technically cheated on the uke Nor do I think he's a bad guy. Just an idiot.(● ̄(エ) ̄●)

I'm sorry but I simply want to retort. Idk the difference b/n gay and straight relationships, but both sides must always know what the heck they are committing to. If they want to be fuck buddies, then say that you're just fuck buddies. If you only want a fling, then say it. State what kind of relationship you're into. Say what you want from the start. But Kou did not, and the fact that he knows what kind of person is Shinobu—pure, innocent, and new to these kind of things—he still played with his feelings. He even said "trust me" and all those stuff. And that's totally bullshit.

I've been into a relationship where he simply wants a fling, but still both of us could flirt with somebody else amidst, but no biggie in the end. Because both of us know what we're into.

Conclusion, I'm not saying Kou is totally a bad person. And I'm not saying that playing around is what makes me think he's a 'bad' guy is that he played with Shinobu's feelings. He simply get the satisfaction of 'playing' with an innocent person. And heck whether straight or gay, I'll call that bullshit.

Not only that, but Kou took pleasure in behaviour that caused Shinobu distress by making a spectacle of his rejection and encouraging his date to make a sport of Shinobu's bewilderment and grief. He wasn't just unfaithful, but cruel and petty.

Yeah. I mostly agree with this. I'm not saying, too, that sleeping around and having one night stand made him a bad person, but the fact that he manipulated the situation and took Shinobu for granted, that's a different matter already. Anyone would find it despising. Well, unless you're a psycho... schadenfreude and stuff.

The deliberate infliction of pain on another person like that is classic sign of a weak and fragmented psyche.
