Exactlyy! I read that part too many times just in case I missed something, but it really was the case. Maybe he's a regressor from the novel along with the sussy looking guy because remember when that guy said, "I remember everyone I have seen" (not exact but you get what i mean). He prob said that because he's already lived oncee but did not see mc. The real question is why do they seem to recognize mc?
