You didn’t say anything wrong, I agree completely. I hate the direction the author took with Taegu. It’s like BL can’t exist without throwing in rape, incest, and a dash of pedophilia, it’s genuinely disturbing.
I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU!! More than Taegu, the author is partly to blame as well coz why sprinkle Taegu with some "having hidden feelings for YW" when he could have been a good father figure to him instead. Why couldn't the author just added a different character to fill in the triangle if the author wish to have a 2nd lead for YW.
We wouldn't be having this pedo, assault, rape conversations or Seoin Fans vs. Taegu fans of who done it worse and who's actions are justifiable if the author didn't establish complicated stuff to their male leads...
Ok... I'll raise my white flag and say "it was wrong of me to say Taegu is a groomer/pedo or taking advantage of vulnerable Yeongwon" even though my heart says no coz some commenters here didn't get why most of us readers now are mad at Taegu.
Again, Taegu is introduced to the series as a "father figure, voice of reason, a good uncle who saved YW from his abusive father" which what YW certainly feels is a familial love coz he is indebted to him for saving him. No more. No less.
Put yourself in YW shoes, you have a father figure in your life then in your most vulnerable drunken state, he kissed you. Are you ok with it? Let's go to a more recent one. If you already said no to your father figure and still forces himself on you with a kiss. Are you ok with it?
That's where the people are mad for. He was established to be a father figure in this series or a voice of reason for Yeongwon. Why do the literal opposite of being a father figure and become what? Give me proper word coz maybe I'm wrong with terms... And please his POV scenes clearly shows he had an "interest" not love yet towards YW when he was literally a minor before he eventually realized when he got much older that he loves him... Dont lump him to Seoin because Seoin was introduced as a dick before we got his backstory so him doing the bad stuff to YW may not be justifiable but it's a part of how he's character was built and introduced with compared to Taegu. I saw one comment earlier saying that not everything Seoin did to YW was assault coz we got a POV/inner monologue from YW of why he can't resist Seoin when he can with his advances during those moments. It may not look consensual but in YW's mind, he let it happen even though he is aware it's wrong coz you know, he has feelings...
Is Pedo/groomer not a right term when he already had interest in him from the start and when he got older he loved him? Is interest not counted? Should it be only love towards someone of young age to be considered a pedo or groomer while raising them? I must be dumb...
