I Totally understand your thinking about the matter, but I think this author was the first to really show how even alphas don't choose to become one. I think that's is what she wanna us to understand with this chapter (8)
The omegaverse trope it's full of angst and sacrifice especially for this, because no one choose what to become, if you are a beta you're lucky enough. :(
I always feel so bad for Omegas because no matter how hard they try, their second sex and others hold them back. Do I feel a little sad for the alpha? Sure because he clearly had feelings for the Omega before their second sex was discovered BUT he’s not innocent since he’s using his pheromones to mark the omega. He’s being pushy like how most Alphas are. Most of these stories can’t convince me that this is based off love and not just pheromones and animal instinct.
I only read that one where that one omega didn’t go after his fated mate and went with the other. Talked about the hardships of omegas and how alphas can be selfish. Don’t remember the name though.
