The plot/basis of the story doesn't make sense at all. The prince killed his wife because she was "too perfect"; he has no feeling/attachment towards her. After her death, he reads her diary and suddenly begs a witch to turn back time at the expense of his life to reverse her death... I guess the author was trying to be creative(??)...
